This was the second house we renovated for our sweet, dog-loving client and his new husband, the owner of two lazy cats. The existing house is unrecognizable as we reworked the entire first floor plan and added two bedrooms within a large shed dormer on the second floor. Our favorite part of the remodel was creating a two-part kitchen. The “public” kitchen is open to the living and dining area, accessible for entertaining, and a working, galley kitchen is tucked behind, housing the refrigerator, double ovens, and dish cleaning area. The scullery keeps the messy aspects out of sight from the open and airy living spaces and the large island clear of clutter.
